We all love a fresh coconut, but I am the first to admit opening a coconut can be a nightmare and a half (I used to have to wait for my husband to get home to open one for me). Not only that, once you’ve hacked away at it with a knife, the kitchen is always covered in shreds of young coconut shell. After searching for “how to open a coconut” on you-tube, only to find demonstrations by the pros (who were clearly born with the coconut opening gene), I stumbled across the Coco Jack and for the first time ever I thought to myself, I can do that!
What does it do?
The hammer and jack allows you to open any coconut in a couple of easy taps with the hammer. I’m not lying, it really is that easy (and you don’t need solid biceps to do it!).
Where can you get it?
When I purchased my Coco Jack, I had to order it from the US (and the postage alone nearly crippled me). Today I am so excited to share with you that Coco Jack has hit Australia and the shipping is FREE (depending on your location). But wait, there’s more (sorry guys, no steak knives), all ‘Apple a Day’ readers will receive 10% off by entering the code ‘APPLES10’ at the checkout! Here is the link to the site: Coco Jack in Aus
As far as I know, they aren’t selling in stores, so ordering online it is!
Why am I opening coconuts?
You can read all about the health benefits of coconut water here. As always, fresh is best and why I opt to crack open my own coconuts where I can.
FYI
For those of you wondering, this is not a paid endorsement, I love this product and as I mentioned before, purchased my own with my own with my own cashola. Don’t forget you can read my stance on sponsored posts and advertising here.
With the hot weather upon us and fresh coconuts being cracked left right and centre, this is the perfect tool for all “health nuts” (see what I did there?). Have you tried the Coco Jack? Do you love it as much as I do?
