Switching to chemical free beauty products can be hard work. There’s an awful lot of guesswork involved whilst you try to find the best products for your skin type, trust me I know! In a bid to eliminate some of the confusion, today on the blog, I share my very own beauty routine and provide a pretty amazing offer for all An Apple a Day readers x
We all love a fresh coconut, but I am the first to admit opening these things can be a nightmare and a half (I used to have to wait for my husband to get home to open one for me). Not only that, once you’ve hacked away at it with a knife, the kitchen (well at least my kitchen), was covered in shreds of young coconut shell. After searching you-tube only to find demonstrations by the pros (who were clearly born with the coconut opening gene), I stumbled across the Coco Jack and for the first time ever I thought to myself, I can do that!
Not to long ago I asked my sister to recipe test these ‘Taste like ‘Snickers’ Balls for me. She accepted the challenge and I didn’t expect to hear from her for a few days. At 9.45pm that very same night, I get a call from her. I immediately thought something was wrong (she never calls me that late). I answered the phone in a mild state of panic and before I could even get a word in, (with a mouthful of ‘Taste like Snickers Ball’) she says “Oh my god!! These snickers balls have changed my life!!!” and we burst into laughter. Today, this recipe is up on the blog for you to enjoy!
The only thing stopping me from turning into one big giant home-made chocolate Easter egg this Easter is the fact that these delicious treats taste that good, that once I offer them to anyone else, they can’t stop either. 100% dairy free, gluten free, crap free paleo Easter treats… ah, yum.
Looking for a healthy breakfast, snack or dessert option that is not only delicious and nutritious, but also incredibly satiating? If so, you’ll fall in LOVE my Vanilla Coconut Chia Pudding.
Coconut Milk is a great alternative to rice or almond milk and a wonderful way to add nourishing, healthy fats to your diet. Unfortunately canned varieties of coconut milk are lined with BPA and whilst cartoned varieties are becoming increasingly available, they are quite expensive, can contain additives and sweeteners and in my opinion, just don’t taste the same. Fortunately, it is incredibly simple and extremely inexpensive to make your own organic coconut milk at home. All you need to know about how this simple DIY task is revealed right here.
Personally, I find there is not a truer reflection of my overall health, then the health of my hair, skin and nails. Throughout my modelling past, I tried every diet out there: I cut carbs, I then cut fat, I went vegan, then vegetarian… you name it, I gave it a whirl. Looking back at this time, I now realise, it was when my nails were at their unhealthiest. Now, by eating a healthy and well balanced diet and looking after my health, my nails won’t stop growing long and strong. Whether your digestion needs a kick start, or your diet is missing a few essential ingredients, my top tips for healthy nails are revealed right here.
This recipe for the Chocolate Chia pudding is the perfect treat for when you feel like indulging in a little healthy chocolate treat! This dish contains ZERO sugar, gluten or dairy and as such, it is perfect for our paleo tribe and dedicated vegans and vegetarians. Oh and did I mention… it tastes AH-MAZING?!!
After writing a piece on the amazing health benefits of Coconut Oil, I noticed that a few readers (who were full of good intentions), had been purchasing particular brands of coconut oil that weren’t doing them any favours. Unfortunately, like many “health” products out there today, not all coconut oil is created equal. Like anything, it is the processing of the food that depicts its quality and particular brands may be taking advantage of the coconut oil health claims, whilst messing with the product on the side. As such, I have put together a quick list of things you need to know before you make your coconut oil purchase… check it out now.
