Potato Mash Substitutes: Sage & Celeriac Mash

Celeriac Sage Mash

Celeriac is more than likely one of those vegetables you walk past at your local fruit and veg market without even considering. Although it appears a little ugly on the exterior, like all good books, you should never judge a vegetable buy it’s cover. Celeriac is rich in vitamins A, C, K and E, carotene, micro elements and other nutrients that are known to boost the health of our digestive system, reduce inflammation and improve liver function. It makes yet another wonderful substitution for potato mash during the winter months.

Creamy Chocolate Popsicles

Chocolate Popsicles

Last summer, our niece came to stay with us over Christmas. Being the good host that I was, I decided to use this opportunity gather some (brutally) honest 4-year-old feedback on a number of my recipes. These creamy chocolate popsicles, were a clear winner and can honestly say that I felt her pain when she had to “share” the last one with her Dad (tears all round). This delicious recipe is gluten free, dairy free and free from all refined sugars.

Paleo Anzac Biscuits

Anzac Biscuits - An Apple a Day

One of my fondest memories of Anzac day is the time spent with my Grandma. Anzac Day meant it was time to make Anzac Biscuits. All 3 of us would crowd around her kitchen bench and help her bake. Whilst in this instance I have strayed a little from my Grandma’s traditional Anzac Biscuits recipe (in a bid to create a healthier alternative), they still taste delicious (and are often gobbled up before I even have a chance to dig in myself). One recipe is made with whole food ingredients and the other is a GF, DF, gooey Paleo alternative. I hope you all enjoy!

How to BPA (& BPS) proof your busy lifestyle

Straws - An Apple A Day

As a result of my article “The Health Risks of BPA” published this week, I have had a number of people ask me for my personal recommendations when replacing their BPA plastics in their home. Instead of answering this question individually, I thought I would do it in a public forum, for all to see. These are just a few of the (super cute and very functional) products I use and recommend to clients. Happy Shopping!
