Below I have compiled a list of my tips and tricks to surviving the festive season. Follow these tips and you will be flaunting the very best version of yourself in no time!

Easy, Peasy, Lemon Squeezy – Benefits of Warm Water and Lemon

Lemon Juice Warm Water

The healing properties of lemons are often overlooked. If you want to improve digestion, balance your body’s ph, boost your immune system, clear your skin or move a little extra weight, then drinking a simple, natural and extremely cost effective little concoction first thing in the morning might just be for you. Move over detox-ers and juice fast-ers, everyone deserves a little bit of this action!

The dehydrator that didn’t cost me a fortune

Activating nuts were one of my non-negotiables, but to be honest, drying them in the oven for 12-24 hours on the lowest temperature wasn’t something I was thrilled about (nor did I have the time to do it). To overcome this problem, I used to spend a small fortune purchasing activated varieties from the health food store. This seemed to work well UNTIL I moved in with my partner and I quickly realised he was going to send us broke on the consumption of activated nuts alone. I knew I had to find another solution. I started to do some research on dehydrators… Today I reveal my inexpensive and still very impressive find that will save you hours in the kitchen…

My Favourite Paleo Potato Mash Substitutes

As the chilly months are well and truly upon us, one of the most regular appearances on the dinner time menu is that of potato mash. Whilst organic potatoes can be a wonderful source of nutrition, using them each and every night can do more harm than good. What’s the easiest solution? Substitution. To help you get started, I have listed my favourite potato mash substitutes for you all to enjoy.

Put Your Feet Up… Literally

When it comes to managing stress, let’s face it, we aren’t fairing very well. Regular meditation practice, calming yoga classes, walks on the beach, long hot baths… they sound like wonderful ideas in theory however, if we’re really honest with ourselves, these restorative exercises seem more like a distant fantasy rather than a reality; but what if I told you that you could help turn off your body’s stress response from the comfort of your own home, no ‘ommm’s required? All you have to do is put your feet up… literally.

What’s in your Taco?

Tacos are a favourite at our place, we love Mexican food (who doesn’t?) and when it is prepared correctly there is a whole lot of nourishment to be found with the perfect combination of quality proteins, fresh vegetables and super-food spices; but like most products found on supermarket shelves, the term ‘convenience’ often comes at a hefty price.

On a recent trip to the supermarket I noticed a popular Taco kit on display. Being the investigator that I am, I couldn’t help but flip over the packet and had a quick peak at the ingredients. What I saw left me saying a whole lot of ‘what the hell’?

How much is too much Yoga?

Everything in moderation right? How many times have we heard this before? From the likes of the gorgeous Miranda Kerr talking about her diet, to the health expert who is telling you how much red wine you should be consuming every day, it seems moderation is the key to finding balance, but does it apply to everything? There is no secret that too much of the bad stuff can lead to extreme medical problems, but what about Yoga? How much is too much? Today Tully Lou teaches us when to pull back.

Diary of a Juice Cleanse

For those of you who know me, I am sure you would have been shocked to realise I was indulging in what is perceived to be as a food “fad”. I make a point about ‘jerf-ing’ (Just Eat Real Food) and I tend to steer clear of the latest gimmicks and crazes. So why would I opt for a juice cleanse? As I soon discovered, even those who eat the healthiest of diets, can benefit from a cleanse. Here’s how I did it.

Goal Setting: How to create your best year yet!

We all began the year extremely positive and gung-ho, full of fabulous resolutions and good intentions. Whether we created plans to exercise more, get organised, be more productive, sleep better or even eat better, the reality of waking up to that alarm and returning to work today can bring about a serious case of post-holiday depression. If this sounds like something you might have come down with this morning, let me share my tried and tested techniques for overcoming such a diagnosis in 3 simple steps!
