Where I’ve Been…

It’s been awhile, I know…  but let me explain.

There may be a few questions regarding my whereabouts over the last few months so let me try to explain in the only way I know how… a blog post.

UNIVERSITY… DONE AND DUSTED!

My last semester of my health science degree at university kicked off in March. It was a hands-on semester (and that’s putting it lightly), with a double round of clinical practice. I was lucky enough to have a full client book, which resulted in some invaluable exposure to some fascinating cases; however, it also meant that I had to work my tooshie off researching and developing materials to help my clients regain their health. During this time, the blog unfortunately took a back seat. I want you to know that this was in no way intentional; I started the semester off (like most women do) thinking I could do it all, but as most of us soon realise, we can’t (or we can, whilst sacrificing our health and mental wellbeing). Knowing what I know now, I wasn’t willing to make that sacrifice and whilst i may have dropped a few spaces in the google rankings, it was worth it 100 times over. I wouldn’t trade my learning experience for anything.

NUTRITION CONSULTATIONS RAMPING UP…

Since finishing up at the university clinic, I’ve been lucky enough to jump straight into clinical practice as a Nutritionist in Burleigh Heads, (Gold Coast, Queensland). Whilst I’ve practiced as a Health Coach for some time now, Nutritional Medicine is where I belong. Don’t get me wrong Economics and Finance was great, modelling was fun, but this… this is something else.

OH AND WE MOVED HOUSE, BEFORE WE BOUGHT A NEW HOUSE AND STARTED ANOTHER BUSINESS…

Yep, when it rains it pours in our household! We moved closer to the beach, and literally a month later found our dream investment property in Byron Bay. We’ve turned the Byron Bay house into a gorgeous AirBnb dream and fortunately, it’s doing really well. Setting that up and running another business whilst doing all of the above was tough, but we’re on the other side of it now and again, it was definitely worth it. If you’re interested, you can check out our new house here.

AND THEN IT WAS TIME TO EMERGE FROM THE OFFICE.

As soon as the degree was done, I decided to take some time to reconnect with those who mattered most. I’ve wined and dined, laughed until I’ve cried, I’ve reconnected and recharged the soul and can finally say that I’m starting to feel like myself again. A huge thank you to all the amazing people in my life who were so patient with me whilst I wrapped up this monster of a project (AKA Uni), I couldn’t have done it without you 🙂

WHERE TO NOW?

You’ll just have to wait and see… 🙂 But I will let you know that whilst I manage my clients, updating the website is taking priority, so watch this space!

BUT BEFORE I GO…

I wanted to thank you ALL for your patience. I cannot wait to start sharing information on this platform again. I love the community I have created and cannot wait to get (re) started. Miss me?

Meet Alyse

I’m a qualified Nutritionist who believes an evidence-based approach to modern nutrition is severely under-rated. Patients are so often left in the dark when it comes to health-care and as a firm believer in the old saying “knowledge is power”, my ultimate goal is to provide my readers, students and patients with clear and actionable advice that ultimately helps you reach your full potential.
