I love this dessert, so much so, I’ve been known to have it for breakfast on those mornings I just don’t have time to organise myself (I just dial down the dates). By using avocado to make this mousse, you’re not only nourishing your body with healthy fats, you’re also topping up your stores of biotin, vitamin B6, vitamin K and folate; whilst cacao boosts your intake of magnesium. The best part? It tastes great 🙂Â

Chocolate Avocado Mousse
- Total Time: 20 minutes
- Yield: 3 people 1x
Ingredients
- 2 large ripe avocados (Hass works best)
- 1/3 cup cacao
- 1/4 cup full fat coconut milk
- 1 tsp. natural vanilla extract
- 6 fresh organic dates OR maple/honey/rice malt syrup to taste (no more than 1/4 cup)
- 1 pinch celtic sea salt
Instructions
- If you have decided on fresh dates, remove pits before soaking them in the coconut milk for 10-15 minutes prior to processing. This will soften them so they ensure the final texture is smooth and creamy 🙂
- Once soaking is complete, combine all ingredients in a food processor. Process the mixture until it resembles a velvety smooth texture. Transfer to small bowls before serving 🙂
Notes
The success of this dessert will depend on the ripeness of the avocado and the variety selected. You may need to adjust sweetness slightly each time you make this recipe. I find Hass avocados work best.
