I don’t have time for… Lemon & Water

An Apple A Day I don't have time

There are a huge number of benefits for drinking lemon and water first thing in the morning (all of which you can read about here). But so many of people comment that whilst they like the idea, they don’t have time. If that sounds like you, fear not, this timesaving tip will help you incorporate this into your morning routine, with no hassle at all.

LEMON & WATER ICE-CUBES

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 3 large lemons, juiced
  • Ice-cube tray
  • Apple Cider Vinegar (optional)

METHOD

  1. Pour the lemon juice into each ice-cube mould on the ice-cube tray, adding a splash of apple cider vinegar for additional nutritional boost.
  2. Freeze for a few hours until solid or overnight.
  3. In the morning, boil the kettle and pour yourself a cup of hot water (approx. ¾ full). Place 1-2 ice-cubes in the water and allow to defrost in the cup whilst you shower and/or prepare breakfast. Stir before drinking.

LEMON RIND, WATER & ICE-CUBES

If you’re after a greater boost, lemon peel has been found to have a higher vitamin C content than the juice itself hence, if you have organic lemons, take the following steps to boost your intake:

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • 3 large lemons, chopped
  • Ice-cube tray
  • Filtered water

METHOD

  1. Place the lemon chunks in the food processor or blender. Add a splash of filtered water to the mix for easier blending. Process until well blended.
  2. Pour the mix through a strainer. Take remaining liquid and pour into ice-cube trays.
  3. Freeze for a few hours until solid or overnight.
  4. In the morning, boil the kettle and pour yourself a cup of hot water (approx. ¾ full). Place 1-2 ice-cubes in the water and allow to defrost in the cup whilst you shower and/or prepare breakfast. Stir before drinking.
